The Huipil, or blouse, is a traditional female garment worn across the Mayan region. This loose fitting tunic remains the most common garment worn by the Mayas especially in Guatemala. Huipil are created on a backstrap loom and heavily decorated with woven designs. This pillow is crafted from a Huipil centerpiece surrounded by woven jaspe in indigo with a metallic bronze thread that makes it truly unique.
