Renegade Craft Fair Recap
Sunday marked the 11th year in a row that Travis and I went to the Renegade Craft Fair in Wicker Park, Chicago. Travis and I had just gotten back from unpacking at The Schoolhouse in Michigan and it was such a beautiful day so we grabbed the boys and headed to Renegade. I love looking at all the amazing work coming from small American makers and supporting their small businesses. Here are some of the goods we went home with:
1. Michigan Souvenir Map
I am constantly on the lookout for artwork to put up in The Schoolhouse. I am focusing on vintage school inspired posters and art centering around Michigan love which this screen printed canvas piece from All Things Grow definitely does. I really like illustrator Marcy Davy's style so picked up this welcome sign for The Schoolhouse as well.
2. Food Prints
Continuing with the print theme I pick up two cute prints from Nourishing Notes to put in the kitchen of The Schoolhouse. I love the sentiments of Cook with the Ones You Love and Count the Memories Not the Calories and think they are especially appropriate when spending quality time with family.
3. Coffee Print
At The Schoolhouse one of the first orders of business is getting a coffee station up and running. Can't get our work done without coffee. I was excited to get this print from Tucker & Scout to hang on the wall by the coffee station. I couldn't agree more with its sentiment.
4. Seasoning Salt
Last year we discovered Beautiful Briny Sea salts and it was a culinary game changer. We are just about out of our Magic Unicorn Salt so we were glad to stock up for the next year. You can seriously put a dash of this on almost anything to take it to the next level. Pure ocean salt with smoked paprika, rosemary, and garlic. Seriously, it's magic.
In addition to the things we brought home, I took home business cards for a number of makers I hope to purchase things from for Christmas presents this year. I left feeling so inspired and in awe of the great talent that exists all around the country.
